Note On Crowd Confusion During GRR Match
As seen at WWE Greatest Royal Rumble on Friday, the WWE Title match between AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura ended in a double count out, after which Styles continued to attack Nakamura on the outside.
The live crowd in Saudi Arabia was noticeably quite for the finish of the match, and that might have been due to fan confusion with how the finish played out.
Bryan Alvarez noted on the most recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio that his source in attendance for the event informed him that the live crowd was trying to have a good time during the WWE Title match, with fans doing the wave, various chants, and more.
However, it appears as if the double count out finish confused the casual fans who were in attendance for the event, and a portion of the crowd did not understand what was happening at the end of the bout, likely explaining the rather tepid reaction to the match finish.
